1965; The year the Immigration and Nationality Act was passed; How has this law helped our nation in the 40?

plus years since its enactment? Do you think it has accomplished what it has set out to? For more information about this law see this link;

It was absolutely TERRIBLE legislation. It changed our immigration law from evaluating potential immigrants based on their education and skills, with a quota for each country, to a system that put family ties over and above all else.

Fully half the 1,000,000 annual legal immigrants to the United States now come from a single country, Mexico. Average educational level 9.2 years. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration... )

A PhD from Norway, with no family members in the United States, now has a much more difficult time immigrating than a Tijuana 16 year old shoeshine boy whose mother has a Green Card and lives in San Diego.

Apparently, it has not helped the nation.

The worlds naturally oppresive. Please don't tell me you're surprised by this.
