What are current laws concerning illegal immigration?

What are current laws concerning illegal immigration?

Its not the laws that are are the problem its the illegal immigrants and the failure of employer and organizations to report them.

Hospitals knowingly treat them, I am not suggesting they should not be treated, but after treatment why cant they be arrested and taken ot deportation centers.

Schools educate their children as its financially beneficial for them to do so in many cases, yet by doing so legal citizens children are deprived of resources as the money can only go so far.

Employers give them jobs very often on the black market for less than the minimum wage and it means other companies who wont use illegal aliens cant compete as they have higher overheads.

Landlords house them in slum accommodation often overcrowded, and knowingly do it, as they wont be reported for the poor living conditions, yet no one reports the landlords.

It seems we all complain about them yet turn a blind eye when its too inconvenient to do something about it or it is beneficial to ignore the situation.

It's illegal.

if your only crime is being here illegally you cannot be detained

they don't enforce them, that is the problem, so pretty much nothing. I was hit head on by an illegal immigrant, she lied about who she was and showed no form of ID to the officer. Of course she took off and never was heard from again, pathetic isn't it. If you want to know about illegal immigration go to cnn.com/hln and to Glenn Beck, he has done alot of work with this subject.

The Immigration Rules on the Border & Immigration Agency website -(www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk) - outline who has a to right enter (i.e. British citizens) and who must obtain prior entry clearance/leave to enter. If someone enters the UK without a right of entry they become an illegal immigrant.

Article 31 of the Refugee Convention 1951 states that a person who has entered the territory of a Contracting State illegally should not be punished for such entry if they enter as a refugee (defined in Art 1(2)) and make their claim without delay. The UK is a Contracting State; however this has not prevented the UK from imposing penalties on those who have produced false documents or no documents.

Other immigration legislation that might be of use to you: Immigration Act 1971, Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 and Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.

The BIA website is very useful as is the home office website- www.homeoffice.gov.uk

Good luck!
