Are most Americans paying attention to pending immigration legislation? |
Are most Americans paying attention to pending immigration legislation? I don't know if most are but president Bush had a suprised look on his face I read when he was told how many are calling emailing and faxing the white house and their reps on this issue. And that they weren't a fringe kook group but regular Americans who had a very clear understanding of what the bill was about. I have faxed my reps and the white house more then once on the subject. Heck I would fax Bush's dog if I thought he could read. This bill is wrong for America! No unless the law changes so we can own one. I don't think so. We really do not want to do the hard labor that they do. We would rather collect welfare than work that hard. Unfortunately, I doubt it. Maybe it is different near you, but near me there are alot of people who will blindly follow any politicans in the same party as them, and so they don't keep up with such debates except to say that their opponents are wrong, foolish, and ill guided. I think they are, but feel like the average voter will have absolutely NO say in the outcome. Most Americans don't understand why we can't round all 12 million up and send home! Seems like most are watching it. Paying attention? Good question. I "think" most are opposed to it based on my conversations with others. It would be interesting to see the official polls. I also think this will be the cause of a major Republican split prior to the elections. |
