Should we take more action against illegal immigration? (mainly from mexico)?

all right. heres how my unorthodox questions work. they do not give my stance or anything, however, i'm gonig to provide 3 valid points for each side (con. and liberal) and whichever side you choose to side with refute the opposite points. I. E. if i said 1. i like watermelon because then you would say no, you do not like watermelon because
PLEASE do not say "i agree with these points!" unless you are also refuting the opposite side's points. thank you!
Liberal (saying yes we should, a change)
1. I.I. threaten our economy, providing cheap labor and taking jobs away from hardworking americans
2. it's completely feasible to make a wall along the border of mexico/US
3. there are already too many I.I. in the US, we will be the victim of overpopulation!
Conservative:
1. Just because they aren't born in the US, we're going to deny them he right to live in this wonderful country?
2. So much trouble, with the wall and security legal immigrants may get blocked out.
3. many II don't have money!!

all right, perhaps i didn't make this clear. i'm looking for EXACTLY what derelict had. i don't want stupid answers that don't pertain to my contentions. i want 3 points that refute either my conservative/liberal arguments. and thanks so much Dere! it's great to know someone appreciates this type ofquestion!

I'll go with no, we shouldn't take more action against illegal immigration from Mexico. Here's what I think about the conservative veiwpoints.

1. (Threaten our economy) Most Americans are too lazy to do the jobs that they're coming here to do anyway.

2. (Building a Wall) Conservatives like to complain about their "hard earned tax dollars" being wasted by the government. I can think of no bigger waste than to erect a giant monument to American selfishness.

3. (Too Many Illegal Immigrants) We are not going to become overpopulated. As far as whether or not there are too many illegal immigrants, it wouldn't be a problem at all if we just legalized immigration. I'm aware that it's "legal" now, but it's so difficult to do it might as well not be.

I like your question, I'm going to see if you have any more like it. I don't know why people gave ridiculous answers that ignored most of the points that you specifically asked them to address.

You have too much time on your hands...You lost me at 1

The big thing is this: Mexico's population is exploding out of control, the people there believe in a big family mentality. They are having more babies than they will ever be able to support with jobs or services. Unless they can send a good section of their population somewhere, they will suffer a collapse of their society. So they send them here, and it damages our economy and takes away our jobs. The numbers are so great, we can't save them from theiir overpopulation regardless of what we do, and we will distroy our hopes if we try. What choice do we have but close the border and save ourselves? We didn't create this problem, but we need to be smart about it for our own sake.

I think they should have the opportunity to come to this country and become LEGAL citizens. But, it's frustrating to see them here, not even showing enough respect for us to learn our language. I think we need to build a stronger force against them entering illegally. Just random thoughts.

No

No

how about this...since sept 11 illegals have killed more Americans in america than americans that have been killed in Iraq....this fact is sick...we should send illegals back ....why make educated people in other countries wait to come when illegals just walk across the border

how much fruit and vegetables rotted on the vine this year because "illegals" weren't there to pick it. Where were the unemployed Americans that wanted those jobs?

No,We are doing to much already.

The citizenship process should not be so difficult as it is. I think if someone has something to offer society and can be a productive member of a community then they should be able to move to the United States if they wish.

You have misrepresented the partisan views on the subject You need to switch them completely

Yes action should be taken!
Reasons:
1. You are just screwing over people who came in legally by allowing them to stay with no punishment

2. They do take away jobs from Americans... Don't give me the "They are doing jobs Americans won't do" argument... because it is BS if you got rid of the illegals and changed welfare back to how it was supposed to be... the fruit still needs to get picked... and people still need jobs so they would take the jobs

Actions:

1. Put minutemen on the border WITH guns WITH LIVE AMMO -> armed drug cartels come across the border everyday and HAVE killed border patrol men.. so fake bullets or no bullets is just silly

2. Stop telling the Mexican government where the border patrols are stationed >_<... Yes our government does do that now

3. Build a big wall with a few doors in it (to let legals through) and station the minutemen on TOP of the wall WITH bullet-proof vests

Those are my thoughts,
-TBird

BTW: ATTENTION ALL!!: The person asking the question is LYING TO YOU GIVING THE POSITIONS ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.... THEY SHOULD BE TURNED EXACTLY OPPOSITE!!!!!

Being a moderate I am on the fence here (no pun intended). while I believe that people should have the right to make a better life for their family, however I am also a strong believer that laws need to be followed including the current laws of the nation. Now, I know what people say that we all came here and took the land in a manner that doesn't comply with present day law, however that was in the day of human expansion and when it was the way it was. Living in reality today, these laws need to be followed right or wrong and if they are wrong than the people should decide that as a nation and make a change if need be.

What I am more interested to know and understand is if Mexico is such a difficult place to live, why haven't the masses that flee it daily banned together to make a change? In honesty it is easier to run than it is to fight. If America truely stands for the promotion of democracy and freedom, we should support a change in Mexico and rather than assist in placing a puppet government in place, supporting one that stands for social change and a reunification of the Mexican people in Mexico.

Good question

The whole debate is moot. The only way you will stop most illegal immigration is to dry up their source for employement.

If the greedy business wouldn't hire them, they wouldn't come. If people would tend their own lawns, watch their own kids, pick their own lettuce, clean their own hotels, handle their own garbage....then the immigrant wouldn't get the job.

But - that isn't going to happen..The Fed. and state government just winks at it.
