I've debate in class, topic is immigration law should be tougher & i disagree with that.?

give me some idea how do i start debate.plzzzzzzzzzz help me folks..tell me some major think that i can talk about that..thanks

1. Illegal immigrants are at the base of every major business. They are what is keeping this country alive. On May 1st last year when the Hispanics took a day off work... the United States lost TWO BILLION dollars - In just ONE day. That shows how much damage would be done if we stopped them from entering and kicked out those who are already here. 2. Nobody should be considered "Illegal". It's wrong. We are not allowing for people to have better opportunities at life just because they were born on the WRONG side of our border. Nobody should be considered illegal ANYWHERE. People are suffering and barely living in many other countries just because George Bush is an asshole who says that this is HIS land - screw that... If his mom had been in Canada when he was born rather than the U.S. he probably would have become an illegal immigrant himself. He's just lucky that his mom spread her legs in the United States rather than in any other country. Another reason we are always debating immigration is because there are too many arrogant American citizens. They believe this is their country and nobody else deserves to enter. What they don't understand is that if they were to "kick out" all of the illegal immigrants... this country would start to experience "The Second Great Depression" within a week. Hope this helps.

We don't need any new legislation the current laws only need to be enforced.

1) no use making the law tougher when the law we have is deliberately unenforced ... talk about the labor needs of businesses
2) there would be fewer undocumented if immigration quotas were adjusted to accurately reflect the labor needs, and enough agents hired to process the backlog
3) the majority of the American people (as shown in polls) want there to be a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants currently here
4) many people support a guest worker program, which is certainly not a toughening of immigration law but rather an easing of excessive restrictions
5) many undocumented immigrants are children, who do not make the choice to come here and who will suffer greatly if by making the border tighter we force them to cross the deserts

That's enough to get you started

okay! are you saying immigration laws should be tougher and u have made up your mind that u disagree with that or are you asking whether should u disagree?
Well, if you disagree as to immigration laws should be tougher, then u r both arguing against the tough laws on immigration and giving solutions. Well those who are against tough immigration laws tend to be the people who look at this issue from the economical perspective.

Start with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and the treaties that were taken out. This lead to 1.7 million acres of land being seized from the Mexican people which in turn led them to leave their land the government took away. The treaty that was signed had agreed it would allow the people would be allowed to live on their land, but since the government wanted more land then the 500,000 acres that were agree and bought, Trist didn't think it was enough. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news... articles 8-10 were deleted in order to better the government in order for them to take advantage of all this land the people were living on. Why not allow these people who are coming into the states priviledges for the mistakes the government has made. What about the Repatriation Act of 1930, the illegal deportation of Mexican American Citizens who had never stepped a foot into Mexico. This was enacted by President Hoover due to the Great Depression. The "white" Americans were blaming Mexican people for the lack of jobs when in reality if was the stock market crash that caused the lack of jobs. The jobs the Mexicans had had all along were jobs the Americans never wanted. Now, all of a sudden the Mexican both Citizens and immigrants were being shunned from working. The Repatriation Act was basically a deportation that was "voluntary". Hoover stated that Mexicans both Citizens and non citizens would be deported because it would be cheaper, even though only about 8% were on government aid, it was cheaper to deport them then to keep them here. So he said they would be deported and later be allowed to return as soon as the economy stabalized. This was from 1930-1939. People were deported to a country they had never been to, without any money, without a place to live. With this being said, the government has NEVER apologized. They have never even acknowledged this, not even in our history class.

It should be a benefit for illegals to be given at least naturalization due to what happened to millions. It was not hundreds but MILLIONS! Over 60% who were Repatriated were American Citizens. Yet were deported because they looked Mexican. They were not even allowed a proper legal advice.

I would discuss the atrocities, the scapegoats that Mexicans have been through, that illegals have been and show that they deserve respect for that. If they were "white" Americans they would be paid some type of reparations.
