My wife was in the states illegally for 4 years while we waited to get her birth documents from Mexico,?

she has been living back in mexico with her mom for almost one year now and i told the INS everything up front about her being in the united states for 4 years, I have recived an approvel notice - I-130- wife of a US citizen, from the immigration service in a very short time only 4 months, is this strange to get approved in such a short time? and i have been told that i will have to get a waver filled out to stop a 10 year bar being put on her for entering the U.S illegal in the past, what type of waver should i be looking for and in additon how will i go about showing a hardship will be put on me if she is not allowed to return home , she and i have suffered much over this immigration thing as do many people, i would really just like to know whats best for me to do at this point to get her home and restart our life together, like i said i do have a approval notice that is just over 2 weeks old and would like to know where i go from here, I thank you so very much for any help.

The company i was working for was down in mexico at the time, but bank of america shut down the company, overnight i lost my job and my wifes family had no room for her to stay with them at that time, and as her father said she is your wife now and you must shelter her, and i said yes that is correct, and i will do what i must, as any of you out their would, it is easy to say what you would do until its your wifes life at risk, mexico is not a place to leave your wife homeless, that is a true mans world down their, danger everywhere, iv'e been married to her for 6 years and the 4 years she was here she studied 7 days a week and now speaks and reads as well as wrights in english very well, she did her part to fit in to our country she has earned my respect ,we are just trying to fix this and be honist about the past no lies, all i'm asking is for another person thats has the answer to just have a heart, pretty please. And yes i am an american.

why are hispanics different from immigrants from other countries. there are laws and procedures to follow and they apply to everyone, plus hispanics don't want to adopt our language or our culture-if theirs is so great why do they want to come here. let's face it mexico is a third world country, is politcally corrupt and is racist against indians and blacks, and prejudiced against what they consider lower classes

Why don't you sponsor her? She could also get a visa.

I'd say you could being waiting for her to get out of Jail, You waited to long to do it the right way, Do your best to follow gov giudelines......Good luck

What is your point? you just admitted that your wife broke the laws of our lawful society! i see something fundamentally wrong with that! "If i wanted to live in Mexico do you think i could stay there for for years without a visa or passport"? ..."that is a bit hypocritical i think"?... It is defiantly something that i would not be proud of or broadcast to the whole world!

Hi,
The form I-130 establishes a priority number in the line for an immigrant visa, or to change someone's legal status. When someone submits an I-130, they receive a receipt in the mail, and then much later, they are given notice that a visa is available. Right now, I think the wait time for a wife of a US citizen is around 3-4 years. You can call 202 663-1541 to check availability. So what you received is probably just the receipt establishing a priority number. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING in telling ICE (it is no longer the INS) up front that your wife was here illegally. I have never heard of a waiver nor of the 10 year ban. the only ban I know of is for men who were here that did not sign up for selective service. Your next step is to file an application for a mica/green card. Do this soon, because there is a rumor that after Jan 1 the fee is going to go up. I hope this helps, repost if you have more problems.
