How can you claim payment for an uninsured car by international student?

My car was hit by an international student who is studying in australia. Car happens to have no third party insurance and my car had been damaged. Can I ask the immigration to hold him until he pay my car?

You're going to have to sue him right away and try to get a judgment against him. Then you could at least file the judgment in public records here and possibly in his home country, depending on how civilized it is.

Who owned the car- if someone other than him, they could be liable as well- also, in many places it's illegal to drive without insurance.

Sorry, you have to have your own Insurance company cover the cost of damages and then they try to sue him to recover damages.

Lucky no one was hurt, that woudl be bigtime money!
