Why did the Mexican protestors fly our flage face-down?

During an immigration rally, mexicans in LA flew our nations flag upside-down!? Also, they replaced the American flag on the schools flag pole with the Mexican flag. Do you justify this? Or strongly abhor it? Oppinion please!

Because they hate America.

Because they're idiots.

To show disrespect to the nation that is supporting them.

If you recall correctly... they were minding their own business getting an educating... untill Bush needed a distraction from the war ...and dillusion from the press.

The flag being flown upside down means the country or direct ground is in peril and it is a distress signal.

The fact that that school in perticular happened to have a Latin majority... made it possible for them to keep it up there for awhile, making a statement...

They are kids. Their family and relatives were being threatened... and nothing blew up!

however... why did it get more press attention than white kids killing other white kids ???

Not just at one school, but at a number of such rallies around the country. In my view, it was a public relations disaster because it confirmed our worst fears of a large alien group of outsiders who do not want to accept our ways but want us to conform to their language. No doubt their elected leaders would have done things differently. The enemy is not Mexican Americans, it is a half-assed immigration policy that rewards people willing to break the law to get into this country. We need strong enforcement coupled with a reasonable work program to permit people from other countries to do the work we won't do.
