Border Patrol?

i want to write a paper on border patrol but i dont have any specific areas to write about. i have to explan a concept like border patrol but i dont know what i should focus on. any suggestions!

i was thinking about writing about how the border patrol evolve since it began and how its successful or not? basically i was thinking about looking at an early point in time the arrest in comparison with estimated immigrants at the time and the same for current year. im kinda confuse as to whether i can find any information to support this.

or, i thought i read something about the military prescence at the borders help control immigration. i would need to find something information on these.. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks so much

i thought the border patrol people were from the federal police force, this is the same as military presence?

well, at first, the border patrol was just that, a military presence on the border, then it evolved into its own department. If you go to the border patrol website, there should be information on the history. Also, find the closest patrol station near you and give them a call. Each sector functions a little differently (obviously the northern border has different functions than the southern border), but there are always public relations officers at each sector who are usually more than willing to help, possibly even bring you in for an interview. It is easy, with a little research and some questions to find out how the patrol evolved. Most recently it was renamed to be under the Department of Homeland Security-(the patches that the agents wear on their uniforms have changed, as well, I believe, as their badges.) Hope this helps!
