What do I do when MY EX BOSS WON'T PAY ME FOR MY HOURS WORKED BEFORE QUITTING?

I was working for a lawyer. He had hired me as a "receptionist" or what ever. Then he told me I had to file immigration forms and sign them for him. I knew there was something funny going on. then i received my first pay check or should i say cash.. he didn't pay me with a check but with cash. I definitely knew something was wrong. especially since he has people do all his work for him. He never talks to clients once they have signed an agreement and never meets with them again. He only takes their money.He is a fraud and now he won't pay me for what the hours I worked before i quit. If anyone has any advice for me please let me know what I should do?

If you can prove that you actually did the work you have two different courses of action. The one addresses you income and that is to report to the State Labor Relation board. If there is not one in your State then the State's Attorney General office.

The second part is to document his practices for his clients (or lack thereof) and report same to the Atate Attorney Board. This latter may have no impact because most States do not have a requirement that the attorney actually do the work as long as he oversees what his staff is doing.

I'd quit.

Complain/File a report to the Hour and Wage Dept in your area! They can also let you of who to go to if you think your ex boss is doing illegal activity in his practice! He will regret not paying you that's for sure!
