Drug issue/prostitution...does one indeed twin with the other? |
...perhaps this is why prostitution in the UK is looked down upon - what about lasses who walk the streets to pay bills, or even dress their wee bairns for school. High class lasses, huh...what do they do it for? Certainly not for a line of cocaine. What we all should do ignore the populist press for once in a while...but being Britain, it seems to be a case of 'no can do' - why are we eager to twin drugs and prostitution when (like with most things...even immigration) there are parts of the question which we tend to ignore, staying with the usual cliches bestowed upon us by the red-tops? Nice one, Susie...see you didn't read all my question, but never mind! My argument is that in Britain, we tend to twin prostitution with the worst sort of 'pleasures' id est; drugs, diseases etc., I also am trying to eke out any possible (unconscious) hypocrisy some of us may hold. It is true that a lot of girls go into prostitution to feed a drug habit,But then a lot of young mum,s go into it to feed and keep a roof over the heads of there children. Both are different. You cannot club it. Both are different wrong paths. lots of college student are what we in the states call a hooker call girl and they do it for the cash! cause mommy n daddy wont or cant send them the kind of money they can make doing that Prostitutes provide a service, they help to stop other ladies from being raped by providing this service. Some of them do it to keep a roof over their heads and their families, to pay bills, to cloth their kids, to live. I mean like why are some people so down on them? if men didn't need their services then they wouldn't be around. So why are prostitutes looked down on? Lets not forget there are male prostitutes as well. Drugs don't always play a part in prostitution. I have known some prostitutes and they are nice people. At least they are honest and say hey this what i do, What about all the people (male and female) that go around having one night stands and spreading STD's and Aids cause they dont have safe sex. Prostitutes have safe sex. So before everyone looks down on them perhaps you should look at how responsible they are, and the fact that they are not hypocritical!!! Drugs/prostitution.& pimps/prostitution & pimps/drugs & Human trafficking/prostitution.& Humant trafficking/drugs....Human trafficking/pimps....it's all a vicious circle and unfortunately it's the most vulnerable of any society who are the most damaged by it. As for the 'white liners' they are not in the same boat....it's a game they can participate in when they want to...different drugs have a certain social status...that's the hypocrasy of this country You are right, a lot of women who are prostitutes are not drug addicts. One of the reasons they go together is that female addicts often have a history of being sexually abused as children. They may have also been abandoned or otherwise neglected as children. Therefore, they have emotional and other issues that lead them into a less than perfect mode of living. |
