Why do i have to pay for others mistakes?

just trying to figure out if anyone knows why i should have to pay for others mistakes? Like when someone decides to drop out of high school and get a crummy job that can't afford health care, why do i have to pay for his mistake? Why do i have to pay for the wellfare because someone couldn't figure out their life? I just dont understand why the successful have to support the people who make bad mistakes.

Man if i was taught that if i went to college i would be paying for the lazy, i might not have gone to college.

two things.

First if everyone was smart like bill gates, our country could out source for those things. We would be earning buttloads of money we could fly people from other countries in to clean our toliets. Trust me, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

second, for helping people, why the government? Why not churches or other organizations that take in donations and do fund raisers that provide for it. Savlation army, good will. Those aren't government agencies and they help people. If i wanted to help them, i can donate to those people.

I agree. I have no problem helping others, as long as they are willing to help themselves, but people shouldn't just get a handout. They should have to do something to earn it. There are places in this country where people are well fed, clothed, get free healthcare, and have all their basic needs met, all at the expense of the government, without having to do anything to deserve it. You know what the places are called: Prisons. Meanwhile, there is also an organization in this country where people voluntarily work for the government and have those same needs met and more. You know what it's called: The Military. Welfare needs some serious reform. I think if the government set up welfare recipients in jobs according to their ability, and, in turn, gave them a reasonable paycheck with benefits in kind, i.e. healthcare, housing, food allowances, similar to the handout benefits they get now, it would be better for everybody and the economy. It never does anyone any good to allow him to go through life believing he will always have someone else to rely on to provide for him for doing nothing in return. That's as unfair to that individual as it is to the one who has to provide for him.

There are many people who take advantage of welfare and other programs that the government give. There are people who do genuinely need to rely on governmental support. This may include people who have just had surgery and lost their job. They will need the governments support while they heal etc.

Being a citizen in the country we live in, as much as we may not agree with some of the policies in government, we must support the most basic ones.

Social support programs are seen as the most basic because they act as a support net for those who unfortunately come into need. Imagine a country with none or little social support. As much as we do not want to see our tax money wasted, we might live in a 3rd world country that offer no support. The comparison might be off by quite a bit, but we could have massive poverty and health crisis.

Someone has to clean the toilets, it seems everyone is trying for those jobs.
I once asked this question " If everyone was smart like Bill Gates, Steven Hawking or Albert Einstein, would they be content being a janitor making minimal wage?"
So as you can guess, I'm pretty damn sure they wouldn't be, an I think suicides would go up.

Go back to college, you sure didn't pick up enough education while you were there! There are the disabled, the infirmed, injured soldiers, and many others getting assistance, not just the lazy!

I completely agree that people who are just not "trying" should not be able to "live off the state and others".

However, what about people who are on government assistance who actually cannot work due to illness or something similar? I don't mind helping them.

WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!??!?!?!??!!

Actually....it's THEIR PARENTS who are to blame for their lives, but Liberals like to dodge "intelligent debate" by screaming about "children" AS IF that is the final justification for their [empty] argument.

it could be worse, you might be having to pay for lazy college-educated bureaucrats in a socialist eden, who are sure that they deserve to be well cared for because they believe in the beauty of it all

Because if you didn't, they would be out living on the streets, making your city dirty, increasing the crime rate, decreasing your property values, and causing a whole host of other social problems.

Welcome to the Liberal World.
