If I were to be taken away from my parents, can I choose who gets custody of me?

This is an addition to my previous question about my parents neglecting me and denying me health care. (Found here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

If I do happen to report them and I get taken away, would I be able to choose who gets custody of me? I have a boyfriend who can take custody of me, along with an "aunt" (non-blood related) who'd gladly take me. I'd much rather my boyfriend, but both are perfectly fine.

I'm not sure where to look for this answer on the net, so I figured I'd ask here.

Thank you for that.
Both will be willing to take custody of me AND go through the procedures.

No. You would be put into temporary foster care with strangers or a shelter. If there is someone you know who is willing to take custody of you, they would have to go through the procedures, which can take a while since they are gonna have to be approved. Ya know, fingerprinting, background checks, etc.

You will go into foster care and almost certainly moved to a new city. Your foster parent will be almost guaranteed to be in it for the money or because they "like" kids. But,on the other hand should the foster parent's boyfreind abuse you after drugging you Medicare will cover your pregnancy.

You are 15 legally that's the same as being 2. You have no say in the matter, you cannot undue it, it takes an average two years for a relative to get you back.

I agree with JC. If you are under 18 years old, you will go to foster care.
