Health care anyone? |
Do you believe that if employers are expected to share health care costs with employees, employers can expect healthier employee lifestyles? only during the hours I'm paid...I would appreciate a power nap, massage, and some gym time... Not necessarily. Many people will probably continue their poor eating habits and not exercise. Employers can't exactly change how people act outside the office. Health care benefits are a part of your pay. They are like many other incentives to work for a company. Employers that pay all or part of employee health care premiums are no more entitled to decide what is or is not healthy than anyone else. And who would make that determination? Maybe placing such a demand on employees results in a less healthy lifestyle. By letting people avoid the responsibility of paying for their own health care, you can expect less healthy people. There's no incentive to be healthy if someone else is footing the bill. are you really asking if they should? |
