People wanting Goverment health care? little help?

Can you name anything that the Goverment runs that is cheaper with less red tape than the private sector?

The military health care system.

No. The government thrives on red tape because they have an army of workers that it is virtually impossible to fire. They have to give them something to do.

In response to Itallien, I was in the navy and while it was free to go to medical, it certainly wasn't easy. Our hospitals did everything they could think of to discourage people from going to medical, and they apparently think that Ibuprofen is the cure for everything. Also, if you check to expenses of the military, medical is their second largest expenditure. It is not cheap. We're all paying for it.

The post office has been doing a pretty good job. Think about it, the price of first class postage has risen less than fifty cents in over one hundred years and most first class letters arrive in a day or two all the way accross the country. The VA health care system was rated third in the world just last year and was one of the first HC systems to become computerized, saving untold time and money.

Utility systems - check when CA deregulated. prices tripled and they had rolling black-out.

Fire and Police Dept - private companies used to charge outrageous fees and invade peoples privacy.

military healthcare - costs about 1/7 the private system per capita and everyone is covered.

Highway systems - cheaper per mile tha tol roads and serve areas which would never get toll roads.

Waste collection - Municipal service is much cheaper than private services.

And all socialized medical systems are cheaper and have MUCH less red tape than our private insurance system. The amount of time spent on medical paperwork in this country is outrageous (more than 1/2 of all doctor's office staff hours)

Nothing comes to my mind. I once considered appling for a job with the US government. They wanted to audit three years of my tax returns. Go figure.

Not a thing, and if anyone sees how bad they run the VA health system, and still want NHS, should be locked up in the crazy house.

nope
