How much are lawyers, usually, for civil litigation?

Just in general, how much would they ask, per hour?

Lawyers fees are always - too much.

Depending on your market and the quality of the lawyer, expect $200 an hour or more.

i have a friend who can help you . Her name is Debbi and her number is 1-866-471-3782 or www.debbicarroll.com, tell her mark referred you

Lawyers get from $100/hour and up. Some get over $1,000/hour. For civil suits they will often work for a contingency fee. A percentage of any award (usually 1/3 plus expences.) If you lose you don't have to pay them this way.

There's a great deal of misinformation above.

I know of no lawyer who charges $1000 per hour...and prepaid MLM schemes are unlikely to result in anything other you being poorer and the scheme operator being richer.

Competent attorneys usually charge hourly fees ranging from $150-$800 per hour, with many very good ones around $200-250. Contingent fees are not necessarily 1/3rd - they're negotiable, and depend entirely on the circumstances of the case. Some attorneys offer "blended" rates, a reduced hourly fee with a smaller contingent percentage.

What rates you'll pay depends upon the type of case you're considering, the city in which you need an attorney, and the degree of experience of the attorney you hire.

That depends on the jurisdiction and the type of civil litigation. Most civil litigation is hourly with a retainer up front. However, some civil litigation, such as personal injury claims, are on a percentage of award not hourly rate. The best way to find out is to call around to several attorneys and see what the going rate is.

It depends on the lawyer, the type of law firm, and the type of civil matter. Lawyers in large, white-collar law firms charge the most (i.e. Skadden Arps, White & Case) and usually assign multiple attorneys to a case. Small, local law firms will often charge more reasonable rates.

Most firms assign tasks to associates with varying levels of experience. The greater level of experience, the higher the fee. Starting rates are usually $175 and up.

Another option for plaintiff's cases is to get a lawyer on a contingency fee arrangement. The lawyer's fee is based on your recovery (30-40%) rather than the hours expended.

Litigation is expensive and takes significant time.
