Married for 2 years now (w/o parents' knowledge). Now want to marry in NV for family and friends. ? |
Okay, so we got married 2 years ago without our parents' knowledge in a civil marriage under a confidential marriage license. Now, we want to get married in front of our family and friends in Las Vegas, NV. Do we need to show our wedding license for the ceremony? Or do we need to get another marriage license in the state of NV? How do I make sure to keep it a secret (I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings)? Just find an officiant in NV who's willing to do a second ceremony and not have the license signed. Explain that you're already legally married, and they'll know exactly what to do. First of all you are a liar. Why should others emotions be dependent on your living a lie? Sounds like a shitty way to "start" a marriage so I vote for truth. If you wanted a big fancy wedding with the whole family you should have done that. If you wanted to elope, you should be woman (or man) enough to be honest about that. Are your parents so horrible that you feel that it is better to live with a lie for the rest of your life rather than tell them that you are already married? What a dishonest, greedy way to get two weddings! |
