Massachusetts family law #2? |
according to massachusetts law, the non-custodial parent can be responsible to pay child support up until the child reaches 23, depending on if the child is in college, or still living at home, etc. now, my question is, what if the non-custodial parent moves out of state? is he or she still legally responsible? or if the custodial parent leaves the state with the child? The non-custodial parent moving out of state is irrelevant in regard to MA still having jurisdiction over the child and support by the non-custodial parent as long as the child is a resident of the state of MA The parents are required to support the child no matter where they live. You brought the kid into the world....it is your responsibility to raise him. |
