How possible would It be for me to get an apartment at the age of 18? |
Im still in High School. Just wondering how possible it would be for me to get an apartment if I work on building up my credit to meet the requirements of a mediocre apartment complex im not looking for 5 star resort apartments just something that's big enough to accommodate all my belongings and maybe later I can look into moving into some more luxurious apartments, later when I go off to college. I live in houston and real estate is very cheap and very affordable. Also my dad owns a chain of vacuums stores and he has provided me with a job and is willing to pay me $15 an hour. My only concern is if any apartments would take an 18 year old that is still in High School. Would they ask or check to see if im still in high school? I was wondering if I could just not mention it all or lie and tell them I graduated. In Texas, it doesn't matter if you've graduated or not. Some landlords, though, are reluctant to rent to "young unmarrieds," for fear of damages, loud music, etc. Look at apartment complexes close to community colleges and trade schools, where most of the tenants are already young people. Shouldn't be a problem there. Good luck. Sweet! So glad to 'hear' that. Good luck. And thanx for BA! :) Report Abuse As long as you are 18 it shouldn't be a problem. I got my first apartment right before I graduated from high school in WA state. |
