What does the term "as is" mean in regards to a RENTAL situation? |
I just rented a place in Nevada. I am renting a private home through a third party real-estate company. A few days after I moved in, I discovered that the entire carpet smelled like urine. It is so bad that there are rooms I cannot even use in the house. When I complained to the agent, I was told that I rented the place "as is", and that this is in my lease. What do I do now? As is means there may or may not be something wrong with what you are buying or renting. The seller is assuming there is nothing wrong, and by selling or renting "As is" they are not liable for anything. it is what you see is what you get it depends on what the definition of what is is ......... |
