How much can be charged, and for what? |
my father passed away without a will the estate is going into probate. my brother is living in the house. he said that he can charge the estate to maintenence. to listen to him talk he going to charge the estate for mowing the grass, taking and selling all the personal property that my father had, and anything e3lse that he can make up you need an attorney. He can charge for maintenance and the estate can charge for occupation rent. When there is no will, the property is settled by a probate court. Any outstanding expenses left behind will be paid out of any assets your father had. Your brother can charge for maintenance expenses, but can only collect after all outstanding debts are settled, including the cost of probate. |
