Where can they put double yellow lines? |
Hey there, I've just found out that double yellow lines will be painted all down my street! now there is never been a problem with congestion or cars blocking the roadway and there is no alternative parking (except in the next street over) and I don't fancy l leaving my car out of sight and a good 5 min walk away! so I was wondering if anyone knows of any laws or regulations that state there can be no yellowlines in what is a housing estate thats no where near the main road? if anyone can help it would be most welcome! Just paint them black late at night The council can place double yellow lines anywhere were it thinks it can get revenue for non-compliance easily. Cynical but true. I think sometimes road safety does come into it They should have published the fact that they were going to change the restrictions on that road. It would have been either by signs locally (normally very small signs), a notice in the local paper or some similar means. alas any where the tax payer can be clamped or fined. I suppose the council can put yellow lines wherever they will make money from illegal parking and parking fines. Sorry but the Council can do just what it likes regarding yellow lines there is no law to prevent it happening. Double yellow lines down the middle of a roadway indicates a no passing zone. Double yellow lines in the center of the road are put down to prevent passing in those areas. |
