Do you legally have to be present to receive your portion of a trust left by your parents?

FYI.....NEVER allow a beneficiary be a trustee!!! Huge mistake because they have vested interest and after the 120 grace period the trustee decides EVERYTHING on the estate. IE. what possessions you get, how income is distributed, etc.

If they left it to you then it is yours, you don't have to be present. But it is a good idea, if you can, to be there.

Only if the trust makes it a requirement that you be present.

No,

but it's a good idea..
