Open plan regulations housing estate U.K.

neighbours planted conifers side of our drive can no longer open car door fully being disabled this is now very difficult, can you advise please

The restrictions on open plan estates will be unique to each one so it is impossible to give you a direct answer.

You can find out by visiting your Planning Department and asking to see the original planning permission. They will have plans and also the approval certificate which will state all the conditions. Ask them to go through it with you and point out your house and they should be able to tell you precisely what can and cant be done.

There will also probably be relevant covenants on your deeds if the planning permission does not prevent your neighbour from planting trees.

Hope that helps

As I understand open plan regulations which we also have on our estate, no hedge or fence should be taller than 1 metre or just over, without planning consent at the front of the house,
at the back almost anything goes without planning consent, get in touch with the Council and your local councillor for further advice.
