My mother just past away a year ago. She had a will do we need to go threw probate? |
Hello, Executors perform the wishes of the deceased by their requests in the will. It all depends on how well you four get along. Be very open and express your feelings and reasons why to your siblings. If you want the house, offer to purchase it for a cost that is fair. If you do not get along and the want the money, give them a share and buy the house. Probate isn't the best way too go and could take years. With four kids, it isn't the easiest way to go. If any lawyers are brought in, then probate is the alternative to reasoning this all out. It can be ugly or easier than most. It all depends on the communication of you four and the willingness to work it all out. All estates need to go through probate. You should get a Probate Attorney, it will cost you about $2,500.00 As executor you are usually entitled to a small fee. You should go through probate in all likely hood you'll have to sell all the properties. |
