How to Remove Executor of a will? |
My father past a way and left his father in charge of the estate. My father left all things to his four children and 1 brother. However, my Pappy doesn't want to give anything to us and will not get certian items apraised. He has gone as far as telling me I am only a "paper child" becuase I was legally adotped by my dad thus I wasn't really entiled to the things I requested. I just found out the lawyer handling the case has told my Pappy that he is "washing his hands of it all". Is there anything my brother and I can do to have my pappy removed from the role of executor. He doens't seem to have the intrest of my father's children at heart. Yes, you can challenge an executor. You will need to prove your "pappy" does not intend to abide by the wishes of your father's will. So if there is not a time frame stipulated on when you or your siblings are to receive your inheritance, this may be difficult. Contact an estate planning attorney in your area. File a lawsuit or get an attourney to tell you what to do. Sue him to get to be executor of will if he is found to be unfit he cannot be one. |
