What do you do if the attorney you hired now tells you he does work for the firm you are fighting?

Big firm handling and destroying a siblings estate after they passed. No one wanted to go against them so found one in avitation who stated they had no problem, but then later you have to explain the law about things and then they don't include what you wanted in letter requests, but "forgot" and then you tell them it's time to get em and they tell you they cannot as they "do work for them". It is clear now why the creep didn't do what was asked and also wanted to go to court on some property and act like they didn't know the law, although I admit five months later they staed I was right as they checked, but that's $7,000 later.

Lawyers are all about money. When you want to hurt someone, attack what they most value, so sue the guy and his firm. And then, contact the BAR in your state and go after his license. If you handle it right, he'll make you a cash offer. I suggest settling for 7 million.
Of course, you could just whack the guy. Even if the cops catch you and the DA decides to prosecute, with all the publicity that goes with, you might get someone like me on the jury. If I'm on the jury, I will find a rationale to let you go free....
Anything you care to do to him, and I mean ANYTHING, would be within your rights. Avoid collateral damage, that is not acceptable.

Some attorneys are like that.

I tried to go pro per in a case against an attorney once, dismal results~.

One thing I'll never regret from that experience is that I learned priceless things about the workings of our courts in Texas and federally.

You may be limited on time - too much so to do that - but I highly recommend your letting the angst fuel your determination to grasp all you can about law.

thats completly illegal...i dont remember what idts called off hand but it has something to do with a conflict of interest
u could sue the lawyer

Sue him for malpractice.

I would file with the State Bar as this was a definite conflict of Interest where your case should have taken precedence as you signed the contract with your Attorney prior to them accepting the 'other firm'. I would put in your complaint the date you signed your contract and what the date was they were notified of the 'other firm's' name. I would also mention if there was a retainer requested before any action was taken on your behalf and realistically what they have charged you due to the fact that they had an existing conflict of interest and were never 100% acting in your best interest for the best results.. Good Luck!
