About inheritance? |
Here is the situation. My friend's husband's parents died and left a lot of land to him and his sister. The sister is the lead person with the estate and has been dragging her feet about selling. She finally agrees to sell the other half (brother's half). About 2 days later a DNA test arrives in the mail for him to take. These people are in their mid-50's. Why would she do that? No note, just the DNA test in the mail. This is a lady I work with. I am much younger. I told her I would ask since she doens't use answers. Some smart *** attorney working for your sister wants to get him cut out entirely because he's not really her brother perhaps. It is called greed and it does horrible things to people. Tell her to shove it, I'm sure that he has a birth cirtificate with his parents name on it. 'Nuff said, this isn't a paternity case. He's entitled but may have to wait a year until probate is complete. Uh, she wants proof that your friend's husband is really her brother? Why doesn't someone call her and ask? Why are you involved in a case involving the husband of a friend of yours? Is it YOUR husband? Send it back with a note that says screw you. The will is not contingent on a DNA genetic link. Property was left to individuals. |
