Where would i go to find out what happened to a relatives estate after they passed away? |
The person died in 2007 in Missouri. She resided in a "care facility" in Clayton and her home was in Arnold. Okay - more detail - she was "being taken care of" (and i use that term losely) by her youngest son. i don't "want" anything...but i would like to know how it ended up. i know he got it all, my husband didn't even know she died till we went to visit the next month. But i have no clue where to look. If she died testate (with a will), her estate would go to here named beneficiaries. If she died intestate (without a will), her estate would go to her heirs at law -- probably her children. If it goes through probate, those records are public. If she had a trust, the records are private and only the successor trustee would know all the details. Not clear what you are looking for here. If you are looking for her assets after death, try the probate court for a filing. Depending on when they died in 07, the assets of the estate may not have been released yet and may still be in the hands of the executor/administrator. dk |
