Is half the valuation the correct amount to pay to buy out a half share in a house? do udeduct estat agent fee

I agreed to sell my half of my parents house to my sister.
I assumed that the lower figure for the valuation would be fair especially as this was 40k less than my parents had thought it would be. This transaction did not involve an estate agent and yet she insisted that estate agent fees should be deducted from the monies paid to me. Is this standard practice or a tryon

You are being had. If an estate agent is not involved, there is no reason to deal with a fee.

After replying to your last question its very obvious to me your sister is a money grabbing *****.

She is trying to rip you off on executor fees charging you 拢7000 when it could be done for 拢200 and now a huge reduction in a home that by rights is 50% yours.

Refuse to pay and refuse her a discount. Sell it on the open market and disown her, she is beyond contempt.

There will be stamp duty and probably some legal fees but no estate agents fees.

Tell her you want the higher valuation and will pay the fees out of the extra 拢20k she will be paying you

If that is how she treats her sister, I 'd hate to see how she treats everybody else.

I'd take legal advice because she's trying it on.
