Real estate dispute? |
My brother wanted to buy a property/house i had, so we went to a lawyer's office and signed the accurate papers we needed to do so. and it stated that he was suppose to pay me a certain amount for the property and he didnt. Does this mean he owns it? Because it is doing house like he already paid for it? And what can i do about this? WHat is the limitations on taking action on a real estate dispute. I live in NY. Does he hold the deed? If you have a written contract, you can absolutely enforce that contract. Try to settle first though, as he's family. Can he just not pay for the property and wants to give it back to you? why not ask your lawyer? the lawyer was good enough to draw up the paper but not deal with the ramifications later? |
