How do I create an Estate to protect the rights of a deceased cousin? |
My cousin died and she was a photographer. Her images are being taken and reproduced. She has no other heirs except me. How can I create an estate to protect these images? You would wan to consult with a lawyer who has experience in estate planning as well as IP. The paintings would probably fall under the category of IP, so therefore, if they were not copyrighted they could be fair game, especially after the death of your cousin. Good luck though, but I think you might find this is going to be a difficult battle. get a good lawyer unfortunately, there is no way to create a trust or anything like that after a person dies. This must be done by the person before hand. |
