Estate agents act 1979 rules on touting and door knocking?

Estate agents act 1979 rules on touting and door knocking?

f u c k you

I can't find anything on the above Act in my law books, however I would go down the route of trespass.

If an estate agent knocks on your door to ask if you are selling your property he may do so lawfully because he is following his "calling".

If you are not interested and tell him no you must allow a reasonable time for him to leave your property you can also make it clear that you do not require his services min the forseeable future and not to call again.

If he does so then that is trespass and you have the right to use reasonable force to make him leave.

You can put a notice on your front gate or door "No cold callers". This is enough to make their presence a trespass at common law.

Hope this helps.
