How do i go about getting my fathers estate wound up.? |
i am the soul benificiary to my fathers estate in barbados and i am in england, uk. how do i get it sorted? its been almost 5 years now and the excecutor isnt doing anything to get this matter closed. what can i do? Barbadian law is based on UK statutes, but their inheritance laws are not the same as the UK. Get on the next plane and find the executor. I'd start by getting a Lawyer. The 'executor' has complete power over the estate, Watch out!! It may be too late, but if he had anything, contact an attorney, now! If you have the Exectors address, then have a Solicitorrs letter sent to him. In this letter stress that if you fail to have a reply, you will take legal action against them in Barbados. |
