What is an environmental court judge?? |
We are having an election here in Arkansas and there is someone running for this position and I was wondering exactly what it was!! Just based on what I could turn up on a quick google, the Little Rock Environmental Court is a local (not state) tribunal, mostly attached to such things as zoning and construction issues. It seems to police violations of building permit laws and the like. There are laws to protect our drinking water and air and the planet earth, and if a factory or company violates these laws they are reported and have to go to court before this kind of judge. So you want to vote for the judge who is a Member of The Sierra Club and The Audubon Society as they are trying to protect our drinking water and animals and the air we breathe! They also might protect your state from toxic waste and haz mat! my guess would be that it is a judge who hears specific types of cases that deal with pollution or EPA laws, based solely on the n ame of hte position. but i do not live in arkansas |
