What do you think of the government easing environmental rules on gasoline?

He directed the Environmental Protection Agency to suspend federal clean-burning gasoline rules. Easing the environment rules will allow refiners greater flexibility in providing oil supplies since they will not have to use certain additives such as ethanol to meet clean air standards. What do you think of this? Hurting the environment to get cheaper gas? Or is it good so people can afford to drive?

I think the entire energy crisis was created by the oil industry to envoke just such a reaction. They want to get people scared so they are willing to give up their concerns about the environment just as they are willing to give up their civil liberites in order to feel protected. The president sits back and watches it all happen because lets face it he is an oil man from an oil family and somewhere along the line his family and friends are getting richer off all this. I think its all a conspiracy. Our children and our grandchildren will pay the price in an egologically destroyed world

I didn't get to finish my answer! The oil companies are making billions of dollars in profits! I am sure the prices don't have to be so high. Report It

Won't produce cheaper gas just more money in the poscket of Cheney and his cronies

Right on and yes to the other questions.

wild ideas:

How about going for alternative energies like solar, wind-power or nuclear energy; nuclearised boats, horses, houses, trains everything. Not good cause if there are accidents, there would be thousands of Chernobyls.

What about reversing the trend. Again sailing by wind-powered ships. (You see, demand dictates the market). What about reducing excessive trades and slowing down global economy? Perhaps we should only concentrate on agriculture i.e. the basic needs for at least another 500 years.

What about no more production of babies. Countries can import people from countries where there are many. It could be a good idea. How about affluent people from developing countries marrying average people from developed countries and affluents from developed countries marrying averages from developing countries. International bonds, after all pure nations or less crossed nations are less developed than USA, UK, Germany or France, which rather are more crossed nations.

How about greenification of all desserts. Ok, how about eating less and exercising more... Ok, many other things similar as such...

I know perhaps by this time you're thinking this man has gone. Well perhaps; not sure.

I'm all for it
