Do you know any environmental issues with distorted information that is intended to mislead people?

The study on second hand smoke. It was proven to be scientifically bogus, and ruled as false report by the U.S. Supreme court, yet many states are using the report for banning smoking in public buildings. The non-smoking coalition uses this report with bad mathematics to prove a false point.

the banning of ddt..it has cost tens of millions of lives and there is no proof that it causes any harm to birds..(which is why it was banned).
