How can you not believe the facts that are staring us in the face? Global warming is here!?

I don't understand how any logical human being can deny that we are contributing to global warming when scientists--yes, those people who devote their lives to science!!!--are telling us it is happening! All of the following organizations say that global warming is real and supported by sound science: NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, National Academy of Sciences, State of the Canadian Cryosphere, Environmental Protection Agency, The Royal Society of the UK, American Geophysical Union, National Center for Atmospheric Research, National Center for Atmospheric Research, American Meteorological Society, Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, etc.

There are even oil companies that accept this as a fact: BP and Shell Oil.

Before we go thrashing people for all the global warming we are causing, do a google and check out the global warming that is occuring AT THE SAME RATE on Mars and Venus right now. Sure, we are heating up. We are in a heating cycle caused by solar output. The climate fluctuates. It always has, and it always will. As for the credibility of the scientists who have done such extensive research to determine that temperatures are inflating out of control, the fact is that these same scientists were predicting in the 70's that we were undergoing "ominous" global "cooling" as a result of...you guessed it, pollution, and that the world would be in a famine as a result of it by the mid 1980's. Curse my memory but I forgot the sources. Global warming isn't a problem and isn't really happening. you'd think so on the outside but really search on this. the temperatures in the world havent changed much over time at all and it depends how many years back you actually look.

The Earth is like a turkey in the oven, the inside bakes first, this Earth is going to blow up one day, you have volcanic activity, rivers, streams, hollow places in the Earth's core and when it gets to boiling temperature it's got to release that power some where

I know it's here...but I am uncertain of what steps I am to take to prevent any further damage...I sold my car....I recycle everything...I keep a large number of plants inside and out to try and clean the air...I try not to overuse electricity or any resource..I try not to buy overpackaged goods...i don't pollute...I try to stay away from harsh chemicals...other than extreme protesting_ which I admit I fail at.........what more do you think that I as an individual can do? This is a serious problem and this is a serious answer/question.

Our fearless leader Dubya thinks the jury is still out- and I believe everything he says. Besides, the war on terror is way more important than an impending global catastrophe. No sense worrying about the planet becoming unihabitable until we rid it of the evil doers!

That's another objection towards the United States, the European citizens feel very concerned in preserving the ecosystem and they make personal and individual efforts in this way. It is just unbearable to see the US ones continuing to destroy planet without thinking of their children and grandchildren.

Actually no, the majority of scientest either don't belive it is happen ( at least like people are causing it) but believe it is merely part of the global climate changes that normally happen. ( like the ice ages were caused and melted)

And even the majority of those that beleive people are having an effect, they only see about a 1 to 3 degree increae in 100 year period.

So no, stop reading tilted blogs and looking at real facts.

The avarice and arrogance of human beings far outweighs the compassion and decency of human beings. As long as our society is based on the equation that money = success, we will lack any compassion or positive attitude toward serving as the stewards of our Earth. -RKO-
