Opinions on CA's Tribal Gaming Propositions 94-97? |
As any guilt-ridden individual, I'm for giving Native Americans any chance to be successful. I'm not totally opposed to the idea of letting the tribes (and only the tribes) expand the casinos. However, after reading some information on the propositions, I'm a bit concerned about these elements: Yes, EPA is federal but the tribal casinos will be exempt from the much stricter California Environmental Quality Act. 1. Saying that The Casinos are helping indians is like saying the lottery is helping schools...yes its true..but not significant. |
