Can I switch off someone else's electricity supply in the UK?

I live in a block of flats with a very inconsiderate neighbour above me. He is prone to playing loud music at anti-social hours and it is often difficult to get the Police or environmental response team to respond - especially at a weekend when they are busy.

I've discovered where the main fuse box is for our block, and imagine that to disconnect supply to a particular flat would be a simple matter of pulling a plug/fuse.

Aside from the obvious dangers, and the moral issues, does anyone know the legal implications of such a move? I imagine it's a grey area, but wondered if there was a specific offence of tampering with an electricity supply?

If not then I'm going to shut the selfish muppet down next time he comes in at 4am and decides it's a great time for a rave.

NO...the electric utilities can't even switch off power supply w/o court sanctioned 'just cause'...SEE> below:

B. Any applicant who has been refused service shall have the right to appeal such decision in writing to the Utility Board within five (5) working days.

C. Any applicant refusing to produce proper identification as requested by Page Electric Utility will not be given service from this Utility.

D. Continuity of Service.
Electric service will be supplied or transmitted continuously except for: (1) fluctuations, interruptions, or reductions due to uncontrollable forces, as defined in Provision 34 (Uncontrollable Forces) herein, (2) fluctuations, interruptions, or reductions due to operation of devices installed for power system protection; and (3) temporary fluctuations, interruptions, or reductions, which, in the opinion of the party supplying the service, are necessary or desirable for the purposes of maintenance, repairs, replacements, installation of equipment, or investigation and inspection. The party supplying service, except in case of emergency, will give the party to whom service is being provided reasonable advance notice of such temporary interruptions or reductions and will remove the cause thereof with diligence.
