True or False? By law, the company is responsible for your safety on the job.?

Safety Health and Environmental Exam

False, the company is responsible for providing a safe work environment. You are responsible for your safety.

True, that is what OSHA is for. It makes sure companies are behaving in a "safe" manner.

In the US the Department of Occupation Safety Health Agency (OSHA) is responsible for ensuring that a companies work environment is safe for the workers. The company is responsible for installing a safe working environment for its employees. And you are responsible to follow the safety rules that are posted. If you are injured and you followed those rules, the company is libel. If you are injured due to your carelessness, you are at fault.

TRUE, but only you can maintain your safety by not doing drugs, drinking, or goofing off while at the jobplace.

True.

Sort of true. More true than false, anyway.

By law, the company is responsible for taking all steps required by law to make the workplace as safe as possible.

For high risk jobs, danger can never be eliminated.

If your question were absolutely true, then a city or county or state could be held legally and financially responsible if a police officer or a firefighter got injured on the job. Nobody thinks that any employer should have that level of legal exposure. It's not reasonable.

Unfortunately too true. In a local case, the company safety director disobeyed his own rules and was electrocuted. The employer was found liable.

Also unfortunately, he had been warned about his carelessness and threatened with loss of position and/or dismissal, but his union forced the employer to back down on that.
