Creator of "Ghost Rider" suing Marvel & Sony over copyright. Your thoughts on this? |
Gary Friedrich, the creator of "Ghost Rider", filed a 61-page complaint last week in Federal Court claiming 21 violations based on the production & marketing on the movie of his character, Johnny Blaze a.k.a. Ghost Rider. He is suing Marvel Entertainment, Sony Picutres Entertainment, Hasbro Inc., & Take-Two Interactive for copyright infringement, negligence, unauthorized use of the characters, & false advertising & endorsement. He is seeking unspecified damages from the claim. I thought Marvel owned the rights to Ghost Rider, if so, Mr Friedrich won't have a leg to stand on, of not, I wonder how they got away with the comic books back in the 70s.... Comic book artists and writers got treated the same by publishers as recording artists did by studios in 50s, 60s, and 70s: like crap. Hopefully this lawsuit will bring the chicken home to roost. |
