Has anyone else ever had this thought? |
I go to bed everynight and watch Court TV, CSI, Law and Order, or somthing like that.. about anything I can find in that area of entertainment.. Last night while watching it, it came to me that I might wonder if it is morbid to sit and watch these shows... Being so into what is going on and how the person died and what is going to happen that I zone everything else out.. Anyone else ever thought about this, or are you thinking now that it may be morbid to watch these shows..? I watch all the shows you listed, and sometimes I do have those thoughts. I never watch a show where there is not a murder in it, that's the interesting thing about the show, waiting to the end to see who done it. i've never shared those thoughts...unless its super scientific, usually csi annoys me with how unrealistic it is....that is the only amusement i gain from it... In law enforcement it's the thrill of the chase, an attitude of I know I can break this case. We all have it in us (the thrill of the hunt). I love those shows, I realize that they are pretty morbid but I consider myself a morbid person anyway. no idea wat u said cause im tired as hell..but that picture u got up is hot andi like those shows and on court tv..forensic files is awsome Those shows are so unrealistic that it's not morbid. Now...my ex wife used to like to watch true crime stories, especially the ones where one spouse killed off the other one (no lie...she really did!). That wasn't just morbid, it was freaky! well, i don't watch the shows, but i am into documentaries especially political ones on either side of the fence and watching war based films / shows. So...I actually thought to myself the same thing particularly because now that my husband is in Iraq, was I being extremely morose? But no, I was into these topics before I ever met him and I am glad to know a bit more that the average FOX network news watcher. So, I think the same applies to you, in that it is a very popular topic of interest (obviously with the amount of programming available that cover these topics) and there is nothing wrong with this interest that you have with the general field of law, now if you were watching these programs for tips on how not to get caught that is a different story altogether! I watch a lot of law and order. Its the only show for a thinking man left. CSI is phoney. I have a friend in the LA sheriff Crime lab and know how stupid the show is. Its the thrill of seeing whats next. It might alter your perception of things. Law and order has a psych make sure the show doesn't screw with your brain to much. There was someone that complain that having sexual images place to close to death scene can really mess a person mind up. THe shows might turn you a bit cold to death. It wont affect me because I seen death at work . A lot of what is on TV is crap anyway. No one else has these kind of thoughts. You are insane. Soon you will dress up like a Keystone Cop and scare children. Have yourself committed. The only cure is 24 hour viewing of Adam-12 and Dragnet. I watch those shows all the time. I just find them interesting because they have well devloped plots and story lines, and more often than not the killer is not who you think it is. It's just entertainment. As long as you aren't planning a murder, I wouldn't worry about it. |
