I am in a band, all of us are under the legal drinking age, can we play in a bar?

We are all fourteen, and are wondering wheater or not we can have our band play in a bar if we are under legal drinking age, I personally don't think one thing has to do with the other, but my dad does. Please only answer this if you know what the law is or if you own or operate a buisness that serves alcohol and hires musical entertainment. Thank you for your answers.

It depends on what state or other jurisdiction you're in. For example, some states allow children under the age of 18 to work in bars, but others don't.

For a more complete answer, you should consult your local laws.

Not in New York State.

you all would have to be over the age of 18 at least, a bar has legal requirements whom may they allow into a bar, over 21 but for employees of a bar they may be 18 years or older in some states

14 way to young unless it is something special like a battle of the bands not going to happen

Excellent question. No, you cannot play in a bar until you are of age. Or the bar loses their license. Call one and ask.

It depends on the bar. Some will let you come in only for your set, then you have to leave. Some won't let you in at all.

You can here as long as the bar owner consents

not in mass

More then likely no, if you are under age you can't even enter a bar unless it's a place that also serves as a restaurant like Chili's or Applebees.

In most states, bars and liquer establishments are limited to admittance of persons 21 years of age or older OR be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This is not true for all such establishments. In most cases, their income is analyzed and such restrictions are made by what percentage of income results from alcohol sales.

To answer your question, you could play in the bar if each member of the band was accompanied by a parent.
