Who would sign a petition to?

Stop the stupid laws about smoking which are being forced upon us? Would non - smokers pay to not smoke? Crazy, Crazy world! this will lead to a loss of jobs (as is already happening in the entertainment buisiness) causing a knock on effect of rising fuel and food prices - any one seen this beginning to happen?

Suzie - point is - it's my choice - no-one else's and my rights should not be interfered with!

I thought Britain was supposed to be a free country.

If I want to smoke, I will smoke.

The government wants to concentrate on cracking down on all the murders committed by these young thugs who kick innocent people to death and get a few years in prison where they will be mollycoddled whilst playing with their playstations.

Its an absolute disgrace.

If we all stopped smoking tomorrow where do you think the government would get all the revenue from (which they get from tobacco)?

They would put our taxes up by heaven knows how much - and that includes all you non-smokers as well!

absolutely Nita!

We all have a freedom of choice - NOT JUST THE NON-SMOKERS

Born & Bred - So what about people who drink?
Should they not be allowed NHS treatment either?
After all they are harming themselves as well aren't they?
Get real!!!!!!

Absolutely! I believe it is in breach of my human rights to enjoy a ciggie whenever i want one!

xx

Vote for Rush Limbaugh for president!

geoff sooner or later you will come to realise that it all for your own good i stopped 6 weeks ago after 35 years you could do the same dont be afraid come into the light you will breath easier and feel healthier

yes i think you are right ,,,but what about the NHS bill, that must be going up with all the deaths there are ,,,but with people stop smoking the money can now go on curing other illnesses in Britain

Sounds like abit more of George Orwells 1984 is upon us,

Nobody has the right to harm anyone else, and that's just what you are doing when you light up a cancer stick.

I'd rather have people find jobs somewhere else than have them DIE.

If you want to kill yourself, do it in your own home. I just hope you don't have children!

Cigarettes kill and affect others around you, this is a good law.

Well, Geoff, I am a smoker and have been for 40 years but I do agree with the UK smoking ban in public places. I know it is deleterious to some bars, pubs and clubs but, eventually it will be the norm and no one will think anything about not being able to smoke in certain places.

If smokers were more considerate about their smoking, I'd have no problems with them. However, they are extremely piggy and:
Flick their ashes and butts out of cars when they have an ashtray inside the car.
Smoke right outside entrances to buildings so people entering and exiting buildings have to walk through a tunnel of smoke.
Exhale smoke in non-smokers directions.

If smokers were to dispose of their trash properly, if they would smoke away from entrances of buildings, and if they would not exhale, there would be no problems with ANY smokers. Other than their health problems...but that's of their own design.

Smokers should be allowed to smoke freely and wherever they like...as long as they are willing to pay for their own treatment of resultant health conditions and a tax to help fund the treatment of secondary smoke exposure victims.

NO. i don't want to breathe in everyone elses smoke. i don't want to get lung cancer because some selfish people believe that they should be allowed to smoke anywhere they want. i don't want to die young because you smoked near me and i couldn't help but breathe it in cos it was surrounding me. think of other people.

i don't smoke but i think the smoking ban is an infringement on human rights, maybe that could be used any petition that gets started.

Four months ago i watched my dad die from smoking it was not a pretty sight.so if you want to smoke and kill you're self then go ahead but leave others to live a healthier life.

ALOT OF PEOPLE NON SMOKERS INCLUDED FIND IT A STEP TO FAR WHAT WILL BE NEXT

there you go!! Ive been saying this for ages, how is the government going to make up the lost revenue??? these anti smoking people will also end up loosing money because all taxes will go up not just the taxes of people who smoke then they will have a whinge about that also,, i do agree that there should be non smoking areas for non smokers but this having to smoke out doors is going to cost the nhs loads because people will be off work with the flu ??? there should be smoking and non smoking pubs so it would be a matter of choice

Simply Yes I would Geoff and dont get me started I'm over opinionated as it is

you can smoke what and when you like , you just can't do it were it affects non-smokers any smoker that does should be charged with attempted murder or grievous bodily harm

and you should be denied any NHS in reguards to any thing to do with smoke related illness

I stopped smoking over 30 years ago and whilst I do not mind someone having a cigarette pipe or cigar I often wonder where my human right is to breathing in reasonably fresh air when I am indoors. However I do think the government has gone over the top so far as pubs and bars are concerned. Extractor fans do the job and they should have allowed that. No I am not willing to pay anything not to smoke and I think someone is not thinking sraight on that proposal

Your right to smoke ends where my nose begins. Stop complaining and go outside to smoke.

I stopped smoking 2 weeks ago after over 40 years as a smoker but it was my choice to give up and I would defend anyones right to carry on smoking if they wanted to after all who am I to tell people if the can or cant smoke but I do think that if this came about it would be totally wrong and have a feeling that it is just so much hot air from the Government and don't think it will ever happen
