A teacher is using my childs personal file for her personal use is this right? |
over a year ago i rented a house from one of the high school teachers, i lost my job and we talked and mutually decided that i would leave the home, i cleaned it and left it for her to rent right away, which she did, we came to an agreement that as soon as I found a job i would pay her for the one month, not even 1 week of my new employment passed and there was a letter to her in the mail with a check she could hold to cash on my first pay day, when I was called into my new bosses office stating that she had called up there verifying employment for me, she had not had time to receive the letter so I know she looked in my kids files that i had just updated that same morning. She never cashed the check instead a little after payday I was called back into my bosses office stating she was garnishing my wages. Thats fine i dont care about that the point is she is using my kids personal file to obtain information, she just did it again I do not owe her any more money she called to speak to my employer not sure what her reason behind it is, I am the office manager and all calls are screened, i explained the previous situation to him and he said he has no interest in talking to her so do not transfer the calls. Is this not against the law to obtain my personal information from a students file that is NOT in her class? How did she garnish your wages so quickly? A court order is necessary. yes its against the law weather the student is in her class or not becuase she is calling you about different matters, i would consult the principal of the school and tell them the teacher is harassing you. after you already paid her the money you owed her. Yup, call the school district superintendent's office and file a complaint. Soon, she will be the one looking for a new job. That just seems unethical, if not illegal. I would speak with the principal of the school as well as the school board. she can't garnish your wages, well not at least without taking your to court first..and even then most will not require a wage garnishment. They will just ask you to pay. This sounds completely sketchy. if you don't owe her anymore money then why is she calling your workplace? I would for sure speak to someone at the school. And if she does call her again ask her nicely not to call your workplace. If there is something she need to speak to you about she can contact you after work hours at home. but no i am pretty sure that she is not supposed to use your child's files to obtain this information unless it for an emergency. |
