Pre-employment: I have went through 2 interviews, and gave them permission to do a background check......?

They called back today and want me to go get fingerprinted. I was charged with a misdemeanor two years ago and had to pay like 300 dollars, it happened in the state of alabama but i live in florida where im trying to get this job at. My question is; Will this show up? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.......

I have discussed this with some others and they also told that they will only search in FL., and you should have nothing to worry about. Did you go for the fingerprints yet? How about the drug test? Go my friend - you WILL get this job. Tell me one thing, why would a bank waste good money in doing a drug test and background check- if they were not interested in hiring you? They wouldn't. You have NOTHING in your past that would warrant them not to hire you.

Normally only felonies show up on generic background checks. If they are diligent enough to contact where you used to live to do a location specific background check it will come up then, they usually only stay on file in the state they're generated in. It is public record, so if they pay for a criminal history from Alabama it's going to show.

If they had a question on the application have you ever been convicted of a felony and you answered no, well that was a truthful answer and there should be no backlash over it.

did you put this on your employment application?
You should have, because if you didn't then they probably won't hire you, not because of the arrest but because you made a false statement when you said you did not have a criminal record.
Most places will hire you with a misdemeanor.
It depends on the search they use as to whether this will show up from another state.
If you plead out did you get deferred adjudication? If so the record doesn't exist.

With everything being computerized I'm sure that the ability to check every state's databases is pretty likely. Since it was just a misdemeanor, if it isn't related to something that would be required in your job description, it likely won't affect a job offer for you. Good luck!!
