Employment and getting Paid Off? |
I am wondering what the rules are in the UK around getting Paid Off. This has never happened to to me. If my employer decided to pay me off without any verbal - written warnings, am I entitled to a weeks pay or something? Indeed (as above). You'll note that companies ALWAYS make staff who have been with them for less than 18 months the first to be redundant. That way they only have to pay Statuatory Minimum Redundancy - which then leaves enough money for the accountants to award themselves a bonus for 'reducing costs'. Depends how log you've been there. Assuming 2 years plus, the employer can only 'pay you off if: It depends how long you have worked there. You only get redundancy pay if you have been there for more than 2 years. |
