If u r receiving a severance pkg but get injuried while still employed does work comp D.Q. severence package?

The Store I work out will be closing and they are giving me a severence package the will pay me 3 months past my employment date, but i injured my knee while still employed, if i file workers comp will that disqualify my severence package?

There would not be any state or federal statutes regulating this occurrence, it would be controlled by store policy and you would do well to speak with your employer, as a general rule the severance package would be put on hold until the workers comp case is resolved and depending on whether you were certified to return to work or not would probably be the determining factor.~
