Why did you leave your previous employment? (What do you say if you resigned in lieu of termination)?

this is for any type of police officer job.

If you were fired either lie or tell the truth. Odds are your former employer won't say you were fired as they might get sued. But with background checks, you better be honest, especially as a cop....

For better employment opportunities. Think of reasons the job you are applying for is better and convince them it's the truth.

If you can think of some factors that caused problems in your last job that won't be an issue with the job you are applying for that would also help.

Be careful about criticizing former employers as it may cause a prospective employer to think you are a complainer and might talk negatively about them.

"I resigned"
"We had a parting of mutual consent"
You don't want to be caught in a lie.

Then leave it like that, unless they press the issue. Then you
say. "It was time"

Because that is what a resignation is for, so as not to give you
trouble getting another job.
Then if they check with the last employer, they can't say
anything, but "he resigned" if they ask what type of employee
you were, they can't elaborate. If they do then you seek a
good attorney regarding employment law.
and I mean a good one, not some that dabble.

Not all attorneys are created equal.

In lieu of Resignation can point towards not full filling contract as in I took the sack... per immediate. When it is your private conscience bugging you. I do not even consider a job in such a force. They sneak, up on us rearrange our brains until they m,may shoot us without law full causes.
I wonder how proceedings in English can have French in them to secure unease in an applicant?
I hope this gives you a reason to forever remember what you said to get through this procedure. Because it has to be Good ... Are you sure they are not going to shoot the applicants that qualify?

the company had such a bad environment for employees...they didn't know how to practice the total employee approach which means that in today's workplace, you are not only employing the worker for his/her skills but the whole person...and we all have needs above our working need...so companies now have parties , daycare and other available to make employees very comfortable and make them feel like something....my old employer was literally exploiting people and were never happy with the effort or didn't know how to flatter an employee!

What led up to the impending termination? Try to put that in the best possible light.

I was terminated in the former congregation. Answer...I'm retired.

I was downsized.
